All the following are dresses from the 2024 MET Gala, “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion”. We went because Mom really wanted to go, and ended up learning something new about ourselves:
Fashion is an art, and we really like that art.
It sounds obvious when you say it like that, of course fashion is an art, what’d you think it was? But seeing old pieces like this, with intention woven into every single stitch, is really something else. Every detail, from the way it sits on the model, the smell of the fabric, and even the sound it makes as it’s wearer walks is taken into account. My photos don’t do the exposition justice, but here’s a few ladies who caught my eye.
